This fantastic painting captures all the “Goings On” at our typical Shed Sales.
It was painted, many years ago, by our much talented fellow Rotarian Garth Holmes, and hangs surreptitiously just above the fridge behind the main counter in the Shed.
It really is a gem, and can be easily overlooked, & should really have pride of place but gets lost in the clutter.
Next time you go to the Shed, keep an eye out for it, enjoy the moment.
You don't have to be an art critic but it really, truly captures what the Shed is all about: -
- Rotarians and volunteers, enjoying “serving above oneself & giving back to the community”
- The eager customers looking for great bargains; or seeking that illusive bargain but quality working item they need for themselves at home or for a friend; or the impulsive buyers looking for the thrill of seeing something different or hard to get items & even avid collectors.
- The fun of it all, and the banter.
- Where you can enjoy a coffee or something from the BBQ menu- Mmm, what is it going to be today?
- A great place to spend some time & catch up with fellow customers or make new friends.
- What are your thoughts, can you add to the above? What do you enjoy about the Shed?
Garth has been an active, dedicated, fun loving, member since 1972, 53 years ago. A fantastic achievement.
